handy tips in the nut feeder section. Seed feeders,
once discovered by the birds, will be emptied much faster than nut feeders so it is important to choose
the right sizes for your needs. Pick the biggest size you think you could possibly need and then buy a
bigger one - you really will need it! Pick a site for your feeders where the old seed husks are easy to
remove, they can soon build up if you are feeding regularly.
Some birds, particularly goldfinches, will come readily to feeders but find black sunflower and other
bigger seeds too thick skinned. A separate feeder for the much smaller niger seeds will attract them
but be warned - it may take some time! Your patience will be more than rewarded though when you have
a charm of goldfinches as regular visitors.
