Are squirrels present in your garden or nearby? If so, choose one of our squirrel safe feeders or feed the squirrels separately - this can be expensive though, squirrels will hoard the nuts and keep coming back for more! The longest lasting feeders are the ceramic range and they look good too.
If you are able to keep them topped up it is better to have a number of smaller feeders spread around the garden but if you have to be away during the week choose the larger feeders - once you start feeding birds they will come to rely on you. If you want to attract winter siskins to your garden, many people swear by red feeders; we're not sure it really makes a difference but since other birds certainly aren't put off by the colour we'll leave it up to you! |
